Date/Time: 2017/09/30 Saturday, September 30, 2017. at

Location: Brechin Ball Park

Hello Scarecrow Lovers!

The 2nd Annual Brechin Scarecrow Festival was a great success! With over 2000 visitors on a beautiful autumn Saturday, the Ball Park was abuzz with a festive atmosphere.

Congratulations again to the winning Scarecrow Display outside the Chamber’s home, the Township of Ramara’s “Real Canadian Hay” complete with hockey-playing scarecrows & other Canadiana.

The Facebook posts were a huge hit for all the participants – Check it out at For those of you on Facebook – thanks for your participation there!

We received a very nice Thank You Card and the Brechin & Beyond team was so gracious to all our participants who created a joyful competition.  Check out our gallery for the entry ‘crows!

The lucky winner was Kim Henshall from  Ramara Township. “… She had left the park about 1:30pm so missed the draw.  She was very surprised, and happy, when I phoned to tell her she had won $651.00!  We met on Sunday and I got a picture, receipt, winning stub #319, etc. from her so I can hand it in to the Lions with our share, $651.00 which they will hold in trust for ‘beautification’ of Brechin and beyond.”  -Merike of Brechin & Beyond
